EARTH: Corn syrup model splits Yellowstone's mantle plume in 2




Scientists studying the Yellowstone supervolcano have recently published about the unique relationship between the mantle plume to the subduction zone off the Washington-Oregon coast. The resulting model of a bifurcated mantle plume potentially answers key questions about the Yellowstone supervolcano and other volcanic regions in the area.
