BJOG release: New study shows link between maternal age and emergency delivery

Older mothers are far more likely to need emergency caesarean sections than younger women, even if they have healthy lifestyles, mass study finds. An increased risk of emergency operative delivery is linked with increasing maternal age, suggests a new study published this week in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
