Professor Patrick Ainley and Dr Martin Allen at the University of Greenwich have gone into publishing. Following their 'Great Reversal' which described 'Young People, Education and Employment in a Moribund Economy', they have edited a collection that goes across all phases of education from primary to post-graduate schools. 'Education Beyond the Coalition' reclaims the agenda by not just critiquing government policy but suggesting alternatives to it. As Christine Blower, General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers, says in her endorsement of the book: 'This is an important contribution to the debate all teachers want and need to have about what education is for.'
