CRG Researchers Describe That Senescence Is A Normal Process In The Embryo, And Is Not Only Linked To Aging And Cancer

Two studies published in Cell describe senescence as a normal and critical process during embryogenesis. They attribute a completely new and unexpected role to this process, which was always linked to aging and cancer. Researchers at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona share these findings with researchers at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO) in Madrid, publishing two back-to-back papers in the journal Cell.
