Conference: Pain, Illness, Trauma and Death in Childhood

Although newspapers and the media are frequently full of stories about children’s pain and suffering, very little historical research has been conducted in this field. This conference brings together historians and sociologists, and experts in Childhood and Youth Studies, to discuss issues of enormous contemporary relevance, such as ways children deal with death, and ways of coping with child death.
