Tel Aviv University archaeologists find massive fortifications from the Iron Age

A team of Tel Aviv University archaeologists has discovered the remains of massive ancient fortifications built around an Iron Age Assyrian harbor in present-day Israel. The fortifications appear to protect an artificial harbor, a discovery of international significance, says team leader Dr. Alexander Fantalkin of TAU's Sonia and Marco Adler Institute of Archaeology.
