Scientists at Tübingen’s Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (IAAT) have laid the groundwork for the next big European Space Agency mission. On the 28th of November, ESA selected “the Hot and Energetic Universe” from 37 proposals. Working together with scientists from 20 countries and led by the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Munich, the Tübingen researchers headed by Professor Andrea Santangelo made important contributions to the successful proposal; and in coming years, they will play a significant part in developing instruments for the mission.
