Toronto researchers part of international team that caught neutrinos in the act

An international experiment with contributions from physicists at York University and the University of Toronto today announced a new breakthrough in understanding neutrinos -- nature's most elusive particles. Speaking at the European Physical Society meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, Michael Wilking of Canada's TRIUMF laboratory for particle and nuclear physics confirmed definitive proof of a new type of neutrino oscillation in which muon neutrinos transform to electron neutrinos.
